The Hills Have Eyes 2

This one falls in between a good horror film and a piece of shit. It's a plane old entertaining horror spectacle. 3 G's Out of 5. This time around it's a group of National Guard Trainees against the Mountain Mutant Monster Miners. Hows that for alliteration? I would have figured that putting some gun toting soldiers against the mutant fuckers would make for a bitchin film. The only problem is they weren't the BMF's Ala Dog Soldiers. They were... well just...National Guard's...and trainee's at that (even though they were near the end of their training). I'm also not putting down any National Guard people out there, so don't get your panties in a bunch. This time however the Mutants were a lot more bad ass which was nice to see. The effects were once again done by the masters at KNB and whenever they work on a horror film you can at least count on seeing some sick and twisted stuff. This also makes for a nice little preempt to there work in Grindhouse (have I mentioned how much I want to see this? LOL). Even though it wont be considered one of Wes Craven's best writing jobs it was still nice to have the man back at work. Now if he could just write a bitchin prequel to Nightmare On Elm Street. Recommended for the horror fans out there.
