Future Career?

I think as a possible future career I may want to become a massage therapist. I think this will give me the type of life that I want. The school is in Vernon, and it is basically up to me how many years I want to do. After the first year I can work in a spa setting. After two years I could be an accredited therapist in most of Canada and after three years I can become accredited in BC and anywhere else. Tuition is $8000 a year. After I'm done their are so many different areas that I could go into and one of them could be working for myself. I have been doing some reading on the topic and most consider 27 hours a week to be full time. It all depends on the person b/c it takes a lot out of a person mentally and physically. Also they can make anywhere between $50 to $100 a hour. So $50 times 27hours times 52 weeks = 7020. Sweet I could be making over 70 grand a year by only working 27 hours a week. So is it right for me? I have read that Psychology is a good background to have if I were to go into it, so I have that going for me. I personally think I would be really good at it. I know that when I was in a relationship I always liked and offered to give my lady a massage and could keep it up for quite some time. I have been told that I give a good massage and that's without any training. Just imagine what I could do if I start taking courses. The school offers a weekend introduction workshop, so I just signed up for that and if I like it I will apply to study in the fall.

Or will I endup changing my mind after a year and want to do something else. In high school I wanted to be an actor, but anxiety before performing had been taking its toll after 4 years and I needed to take a break. It was weird how it was only before I performed, once I was out there doing it I was fine and when I was finished I felt a tremendous high. Then in college I was interested in the criminal aspect of sociology, so I thought I would get into law in some way. Somehow I felt that it was to limited. My other passion that could lead to a possible career was psychology (another passion was philosophy but all that would lead to is philosophizing about being unemployed.) So I went from wanting to become a doctor in the field, to becoming a counselor, to wanting to teach psych in high school (which is where I first was introduced to it). All of those fell through for a number of reasons. So I will have to wait and see if I add massage therapy to this list or not. I would maybe even like to run a theater that showed old movies or even work at a video store, somewhere I have a true passion for. Unfortunatly it doesn't pay that well and I would love to have a job were if I wanted to could support a wife and kids and give them the things they want.

I'm Running Out of Space.

Yesterday I had I buy another DVD holder. I now have 8 of them holding close to 900 DVDs. Not only am I running out of room on the racks I'm also running out of places to put the racks. The next one I buy I'm going to have to do some major reworking of my room.

I also saw an HMV commerical saying that "Your Collection is Never Complete". As an addict this is not a good thing. I'm going to now start buying in a trance like state mumbling my collection to never complete.

Beowulf & Grendel

Went to see this film tonight and thought that it was fucking cool. I didn't really know to much about the story. All I really remember was that it was a poem that my friend had to read in Lit 12. I don't remember talking to her about it at all but when I found out there was this movie I felt like I just had to see it. When I first saw the trailer for the film I personally thought that it looked somewhat lame but I chose to see it anyway. It actually turned out really well. I'm personally a fan of Gerard Butler's work so with him playing Beowulf I was even more compelled to see it. One thing I found really funny being that it is based on a poem that is one of the oldest surving epic poems is they said 'fuck' eight times, 'shit' 6 times, 'prick' twice, and 'bitch' once. So were this words actually used in the poem at anytime? If so that would have been so cool. The first time I heard fuck in the movie I was shocked to hear it. How many times do you hear modern curse words used in movies set in 700 AD. Once I hear it I felt compelled to count how many times I heard these words. Interesting enough is Robert Zemeckis is coming out with his own Beowulf film in 07 so I'm wundering what he will do with it. Personnally I hope it sucks just so I can like this one more.
Currency Study

I came across this cool website today called Where's Willy. I got a five dollar bill a while back and in purple marker it said Currency Study Online and gave me this website. Since I'm interested in currency exchange for my trip I set it aside the note to come back to it later. What the site does is allow you to track where your money has been and where it will go next. Of course in order for this to work the next person who gets this bill will have to enter in the serial number. So far I was only the second person to enter in this number. In 68 days it had traveled 4.5 km and is still in kamloops. When someone else enters it on the site I will get an email as to where it is next. I'm interested to see where it will go.

I just got an email from the person who wrote on the bill thanking me for entering it. That was so cool. He said the furthest one of his bills has gone was Australia or Austria.

How I Killed My Car

Reading about Jen's car trouble reminded me of my own car trouble incident. In August 2002 I bought myself a brand new midnight metallic blue sunfire ( I really loved this color and I'm always cleaning it during the summer to show it off). When I woke up that day I hadn't planned on buying a car but I was in the market for one and I got a fairly good deal on it. Its was basically the cheapest new car a person could buy. One item in particular making it cheaper was the fact that it was a standard not an automatic. At the time I had no idea how to drive stick but my two older brothers both bought new cars without being able to drive stick and they picked it up in a few days. A week to the day after buying it I was out with my mom learning to drive stick and all of a sudden my car starts losing power and smoke starts coming up from the hood of my car. After only a week I had fucked the transmission on the car. Technically it wasn't my fault, there was a faulty part, but my family doesn't let me live down the fact that I had destroyed a new car in only a week. This of course put a kink in my learning. I think it took me around a month to finally master driving stick. Today I always feel like a race car driver having to shift, which is fun. This coming august I will have finally paid it off so I look forward to no more car payments.

[ I find it ironic that I'm wearing my James Dean shirt in the only pictures I have of me and my car. He died when he was 24 in a car accident. I will be 24 this year, hopefully this doesn't mean anything.]

Another car incident happened when I hit a deer ( actually the deer landed on me) on my way to Edmonton. I had left for Edmonton at 3am and avoided 6 deer in complete darkness. Then around 6:30am in day light outside Valmount a dam deer comes prancing out of the forrest. I slam on my brakes and caught the deer on the hood of my car coming down from a hop. I checked the damage and luckily it was only damage to the hood. I go to find the deer and its in the ditch slowing breathing. I figure that with the damage to the hood that the deer was probably only stunned. I felt bad for the deer and did think about going to put it out of its misery but I thought if I got to close the damn thing would endup kicking me. The damage cost me $300, which pissed me off. I was even thinking of strapping the thing to the car and selling it to recoup some costs. I had my camera with me so I took the pic for insurance reasons, and also collected the bits of the hair stuck in my grill as proof.

The most recent incident was some asshole hitting me in a parking lot and cracking my front bumper. The kicker is the fucker didn't leave a note. To fix it, it will cost me $500, but I figure since it's not all that noticeable it could wait.
Your Brain's Pattern

You're a simple thinker, and this is actually a very good thing.
You don't complicate matters when you don't have to.
You look for the simplest explanation or solution, and you go with that.
As a result, your mind is uncluttered and free of stress.
It was difficult to pick just one, but I think this was the first one my eyes jumped at.
My Fav Commercials

I was thinking about my two most favorite commercials of all time and thought I would share them. My most favorite is Fight for Salmon. Then its the Red Sox Mastercard commercial, namely b/c of Denis Leary one of my fav comedians.

Merde

I wanted to go see Stay Alive tonight. So I go pick my friend up, drive down to the Paramount and it's fucking closed. The doors are locked and the manager comes out, we ask if they are playing movies tonight and they are not. We fail to ask why, but all the lights were on so it wasn't due to a power outage. My friend is a projectionist for the Cineplex, so if it was a projector problem I bet he probably could have fixed it. Fuck that pissed me off. I had a lot of movies that I wanted to see this week and this just killed my night. The real kicker was if I came early I could have found this out then could have gone over to Northhills in time to see Beuwolf and Grendal. Instead we ended up playing pool at the hotel where for the first time I got my ass kicked. Goddamit!!!
Quebecois

Staying at the hotel we had some French Canadian figure skaters. When they were speaking to one another they were all speaking French and it was interesting listening in to see if I could comprehend anything. I haven't done any French in like 6 years since I was in high school and even then my French sucked but it was cool being able to understand a tiny bit of what they were saying.

Living a part of my childhood in Winnipeg, we were taught French starting in grade 2 as opposed to grade 4 or 5 for kamloops. When I moved, even thought I had a two year head start I was only about at the same level as my class mates who just started. I maintained an above avg grade in French until grade 11. I was even good enough to help other students with their French. My last two years of high school French became super difficult and I did anything just to get a passing grade. To my benefit I had a friend who started his schooling in French immersion so I would usually get him to translate what I wanted to say for homework assignments. ( Luckily he is also the one going to Europe with me, so at least I have a translator for Paris) It was a funny mix of high marks for assignments but shitty test scores. My final year was a mix of good and bad. I only stayed in it for grade 12 because I knew I needed it to get my bachelor Of arts degree. If I didn't I would have had to take French in college, which I really didn't want to do. In retrospect this may have been a better idea since all college courses seemed so much easier. In the good column I was only one of three guys in the class and the rest were all good looking women...hehe. My greatest accomplishment was getting a just barely pass with exactly 50% as my final grade. When asked if I can speak French I always find it funny to say that I studied it for 11 years but I can't speak it to save my life.

Personally I think it should be taught better in schools. I know that personally after every summer I would forget just about everything that I had learned but the teachers would expect us to retain it. There also should have been a much greater focus in speaking and comprehending others, because it seems like that's the only time I ever come across it today. One thing I remember from my psych classes is that infants and small child are better at picking up a second language if they are introduced to it from a very early age. Babies are not born with the ability to speak a certain language, they pick it up from hearing their parents. If I ever end up having children I would want to introduce them to both English and French early. Maybe that way they could have an easier time with French classes.
Euro Trip

Yeah! I bought my plane tickets so now its official that I'm going. I leave April 30th and return June 5th. I think I got a pretty sweet deal on my plane ticket, I only paid $685 round trip. So it looks like when I'm over there I will be going to London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Berlin,
Salzburg, Budapest, Rome, Paris, Bucharest, and Zurich. I can't wait.

SNL Star Wars Auditions

Kevin Spacey and Darrell Hammond do an audition spoof on Star Wars. I saw this when it originally aired and it is really funny unfortunately it doesn't have Spacey doing Walter Matthau trying out for Chewbacca. That was the funniest one.

Near Dark

Just bought the modern vampire movie Near Dark, and I'm glad I gave this film a second chance. I remember the first time I saw it I didn't really like it. Then a few years pass and I felt the urge to buy it, even though I didn't like it. Then I was able to get the 2 disc special edition for $15 so I was like what the hell. Then I watch it again and man this movie is so fucking awesome. The film also has this great song in it called Naughty, Naughty by John Parr and is brilliantly used in the films trailer. So if your into modern vampire films and haven't seen this then give it a shot.
As Smith Would Say

So there we were, a thousand against three. It was the toughest three we ever fought.

Mixed Signals ?

Am I getting mixed signals from a girl? I think I just might. There is this really nice, friendly beautiful women who I'm not sure if she wants me to ask her out on a date or if she just wants to be my friend. She has kissed me a few times (not on the mouth, and before your mind wanders just stop) and given me hugs but it has always been at the club. For all I know she's maybe had a few drinks and as I said she is really outgoing and friendly so maybe its just a friendly gesture. She did give me her number to hang out sometime but when I have called her she is always busy with work or school, which is understandable. I usually read way to deep into things sometimes so maybe this is just it. Then the question is if she wants to date, do I want the same? When I think about her all I can think is that she is deserving of a a man who can give her a serious relationship but I don't know if I could give her that. I could see things going on for a bit then things just coming to an end and I don't think that would be fair. Although it would be really nice to have her as a closer friend than we are now and hang out together. My heart is really divided on the subject. I also think I may have developed some feeling for someone else, so would it be fair to start something with someone if my heart isn't there? No.
CONGRATULATIONS DARIUSZ!!!!

Dariusz won the bronze medal in discus at this years Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Currently he is ranked 36th in the world. According to his bio he holds the Guiness World Record for the longest car push. He pushed a 2900lb car 56km in 10 hours. He raised $10,000 before the world record attempt and donated it cancer research and is now trying to break the record for longest washing machine throw. That is so amazing, so cheers.

Busy Day

I felt like getting out of Kamloops for the day, so I drove to Kelowna for some fun and shopping. I thought my trip was going to be ruined as I drove there b/c 18 km outside of Kelowna airport, traffic came to an absolute standstill. I had no idea what was going on till I listened to the radio. There was some rock scaling going on, so in total I was only stuck for about 20 min. My parents also decided to go to Kelowna today so I met up with them for lunch at the Whitespot which was nice.

When I go to Kelowna I usually have a check list for things that I have to do there that I can't do in Kamloops. The one thing that I usually do is play indoor mini golf at Scandia, but since I went by myself this time I skipped out on it. The next thing I have to do is get in some games of 10 pin. This time around I didn't do as well. My high game was only 147 which really pissed me off. I got robbed of strikes so many times. Of course I rationalize my shity playing with not playing in like 8 months and the fact that I have bowled a lot of 5 pin in that time. Last summer all my games were between 180 and 220. That takes care of the fun stuff. Although when summer hits I will either do some more seadooing or parasailing.

Next I had to visit Spencer's Gift, HMV, A and B sound, and Bang On. I had a $10 off at Spencers I had to use up before the end of the month so I ended up buying my brother Kill Bill Vol. 2 figures. I wanted to buy a goblet and 'The Who' belt buckle but the cup didn't hold enough and they didn't have my buckle. Maybe next time. I was hoping that they would have Neca Cult classic Series 3 figures b/c one of then is a Dawn of the Dead figure that I really want. So now I'm going to have to wait a month for that. Then I have to visit my dvd stores and as per usual I ended up with more than I thought I would. On DVD I bought:

Crocodile Dundee 2
Uncommon Valor
Near Dark
Life is Beautiful
South Park Season 7
Psycho 3
Quick Change
Derailed
Return of the Living Dead 2

Then I wanted to visit Bang On for a new belt buckle but there wasn't any that really sparked my interest. I sorta liked the Superman symbol but I thought I really didn't need it. Then when I went to Chapters I was hoping to find a copy of Ethan Hawke's The Hottest State and The Walking Dead, but they didn't have either. Kamloops also no longer has a Burger King so I had to get some BK for dinner. Not having a BK sucks. I really loved their Bacon Double cheese burgers, and it was so close to where I live. I gave myself I laugh as I drove home and just had to wave my bag of BK in front of some cows as I drove by. Hehe.

Then tonight I met with my friend and booked our plane tickets to London. I now officially leave April 30th and come back May 5th. I was a little bit tempted not to even go and just keep all the money that I worked so hard to get over the past year. But as I said I was only a little tempted.

The driving also gave me the time to just think and listen to some tunes. Now its time to just sit in my bed, chill and watch some movies. Oh ya, one last thing "Kelowna Drivers and Traffic Lights Suck!"

Freddy's Nightmares

Super fucking sweet!!!!!!! Over at AOL TV I can finally watch episodes of Freddy's Nightmares and for free. If you have no idea what this is and your a fan of The Nightmare on Elm Street series them shame on you. It was a TV series that ran between 88-90 hosted by Freddy Krueger, telling a different scary story every episode. I've never seen it but I've always wanted to. At one point I could have rented a few episodes to watch when we had a Superior Video store, but by the time I got to it they were permanently gone. You can also watch episodes of other TV shows. They even have episodes of V which I think was the greatest scifi show on TV. Fortunately they released everything V on DVD so I have them all.

Do Cats Love Me?

I went to my friends house tonight to get some planning done for our trip. He has a cat (Panda) who whenever someone comes over will go and hide. According to him the only person outside his parents and brother that the cat will ever go near is his Aunt. While I there Panda slowly made his way over to me and I even got to pet and hold him to the suprise of my friend. This is not the first time a shy kitty that doesn't like anyone came up to me. I was at a friend of a friends house and while watching a movie their cat came over to me and fell asleep in my lap. Once again this shocked the person, b/c the cat hates strangers. My grandparents cat also doesn't go around to many people but it will come up to me. I guess pussy just loves me. LOL! I'm sorry I just had to say it. Maybe this is a sign that I should get a cat instead of a dog. Maybe I'll just get both.
Funny Pictures
Funny Pictures
V for Vendetta

Went to see this film tonight, and I give it a 4 out 5. It was a really cool, entertaining, enjoyable film. It had some great dialogue. A funny thing that happened during the film is some guy was falling asleep and snoring. It happened on 4 separate occasions. It was quite funny but fortunately not to disturbing to the film.

I once thought that it was impossible to fall asleep during a movie in a theater or at least for myself until it actually happened. I was at a staff showing of One Night at McCool's (which by the way really sucked). Since its a staff showing it was around 2am and I was getting very sleepy through out the film. I closed my eyes and actually fell asleep for a minute or two. When I woke up I felt really disoriented. The funny part was I was about to put my hand on the knee of the person sitting beside me. I thought I was there with my girlfriend but she couldn't go so a friend of mine went instead. Thankfully I stopped myself or else it would have been very awkward.
A Conservatives View On the Job Market

At the hotel there was a small conservative party meeting. Afterwards, one of the older ladies from the meeting was having a conversation with our front desk person about the labor market. In B.C. there are more jobs available than there are people to fill them. According to this lady, the lack of people is due to abortions. She said something along the lines that if people would stop having abortions then we would have the people around to fill the jobs. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off. I thought that this was so fucking stupid.

And since I mention abortion I feel like giving my stance of the subject. I'm prochoice. What a women wants to do with her body is up to them. It is only when abortion is used a method of birth control that I have a problem. "Oh shit, I'm pregnant for the fifth time, time to get another abortion"

Arcade Boxing Game

Last night at the Dog we got a new arcade boxing game, similar to the one in the pic. Supposedly some fairly small guy, weighing 165 pounds got the high score of 923 out of a possible 1000 during the night. So at the end of the night the bouncers and bar tenders spent about an hour trying to break this record. We have bouncers with triple degree black belts in Karate, black belts in Tae kwon do, hockey players, ex college football players, and Cowboys who compete in Rodeos, as well as the owner who is ex NHL. It took about 40 min just for one person to break the record of 923. He is a porter who plays hockey and only beat it by 4 points I think. All these guys kept trying and all they could get were low 900 or high 800. Then our triple black belt bashed the record with a score of 936. My high score was 825. Two people I would have loved to see hit the bag were two people I used to work with at Rivers. One has won the Kamloops strongman like 3 years in a row, and the other guy who is a champion discus player who is competing in this years Commonwealth games, and hopefully the next summer Olympics.
Quote of the Night

I forget where I heard this quote but I think its funny.

This stupid survery fucked up my page, so I fucked with the survery
Quote of the Day

Since the South Park Creators believe Issac Hayes left because they made fun of Scientology and an episode about the religion was pulled, Matt and Trey have offically declared war on Scientology.

They have been quoted as saying "So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies... You have obsructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail!"

Thats so great, I love these guys. Oh how they crack me up. *Shpadoinkle!*
The Return of Alice in Chains?

It turns out that Alice in Chains were offered the chance to find a new singer on CBS' Rock Star. Thankfully, they passed. The drummer Sean Kinney said "the group turned down the offer and will audition singers on its on." So does that mean we might actually see a new Alice in Chains in the very near future. I really hope so, but I'm also a little apprehensive. Lanye Stanley was such a great singer and it's impossible to replace him. But look at AC/DC and INXS, their frontmen died as well and they have gone on to be just as huge. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime I still have Jerry Cantrell's solo projects to listen to, and they are just as great as any Alice in Chains album. This I guess can be attributed to the fact that he wrote and sang (at least on a few songs) for AIC.
I also now just read that the band will be playing in Europe when I'll be over there. That would be so fucking awesome to see them live. They may have the vocalist William Duvall from the band COMES WITH THE FALL or a rotating cast. The good news that I have read is that if they do find a permanent new singer they would most likely change the name of the band from AIC. It would be sweet if they went the route of Velvet Revolver and Audioslave and put together a super group. ROCK ON!
It's Damn not Dam, Damn it.

I've noticed that for some reason I'm not putting in an n when I spell Damn. I just thought that this was a funny observation. Will I probably continue to do it? Most likely unless I start to think about this post.

Tonight I got to break-up a fight at work. It has only been the second time in my bar career that I have done this. I see myself as a lover not a fighter...hehe. Hell, they don't pay me enough to get involved, but there were no bouncers around at the time. Usually I won't bother getting involved and just go find a bouncer. I'm fairly passive put if I have to throw down I can get fairly nuts. I figure thats the key to any fight I would get into, just act fucking nuts. Maybe take out a knife and just start cutting myself...LOL!

Death to Idiots

This is so rad, thanks Jen. I have to get rid of all the people who fall into my theory of 85 and the rest of the people I just can't stand. Join the Fight.
Armageddon

I now finally have a Criterion Collection copy of Armageddon, although it is only a DVD burnt copy and not an official copy. A real copy sells for about $78(Cdn) brand new which I would have been happy to pay if I ever found it to buy at a store. I've searched for 4 years. My oldest brother bought a new copy back in 99 for about this price. Then my second oldest found a copy (by dumb luck) at a used shop for $10. Which really pissed me off b/c I ended going to the same place only an hour later. I did sort of get sweet revenge on him about a month later when I found The Criterion version of the Rock for $10, which he really wanted as well ( brand new it would have been $80(Cdn)). My youngest brother has a friend who can perfectly burn identical discs so we got a few copies of Rock and Armageddon burnt.

So I finally watched the film again and I really enjoyed it even though I've already seen it a bunch of times. Suprisingly, the ending actually made me choke up a little bit. I don't even think this happened when I saw the film when it came out. It got me thinking how just one event was able to bring an entire planet together. I couldn't help but think of the line from Mars Attack "Why can't we all just get along?"

And its been awhile since I've heard the Aerosmith song I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, damn this is such a great sappy movie love song.

Random Thought

I may not be happy but I would say that I am content.
Zombie Fun

If your every driving in the early hours of the morning try listening to songs from the original Dawn of the Dead soundtrack. It can be quite spooky and really fun thinking your living in a world of the dead. It may even be fun trying it in the middle of the day when there are lots of zombies...I mean people out. I haven't tried this yet but I may feel tempted to hit a few. So maybe this is a bad idea...lol.

Poetry Time

I remember in high school I would entertain my friends with really stupid, funny, lame poems that I made on the spot. I would take some random object and make a quick little poem that rhymed. The poems really sucked and that was the point. I wasn't some kind of poet laureate. Unfortunately I never wrote any of them down. I had almost completely forgot about doing it until a friend reminded me a while back. Here is an example that I just made up. Of course with me not delivering it in my way it may not read as funny but it will be obvious how shitty they can be.

I am a Porter.
You better not give me a quarter .
I heave and I ho
as I go to and fro.
And when you tip
the shit better show
.
-G
At least I find it funny when I read it out loud.

I figure if I'm posting a shit poem I should at least give a real poem that has been published. I bought this book of love poems a while back so I'll share a shot one.

Everyone finds happiness
in his own way.
Happily...
I can think of you

Rocky VI: Die or Retire

Chuck Norris Facts

The man himself reading his facts. Some funny shit.
My Bros

I find it so amazing how people can confuse me for one of my brothers and vice versa. Just the other night at the bar someone thought I was my brother Ryan. Personally I don't see how this can happen. The three youngest looked the most similar when we were younger but as we've aged I really don't see how people mix us up. Yes we are brothers and we do look similar but how can you confuse us. Were not quadruplets! I'm also the only one who looks similar to my oldest brother. Thankfully one person at the bar did recognize me as being Ryan's brother and not Ryan. She also said that I was more cuter than my brother, which did make my night. I have been told that a couple of times that I'm the cutest of my siblings. Well I guess I have that going for me.
ME, Ryan

One thing that sort of pissed me off was when my brother would come home after hanging out at a night club and tell me that women were coming up to him all the time thinking he was me. He would say that I knew some pretty good looking women. I would be like what the fuck. The hottest girls in school who never said more than a few words to me are all of a sudden coming up to what they think is me and wanting to talk. FUCK! This was a time when I never went to the bar, so I would tell him to call me when it happens so I can come down. Unfortunately for me he would never call.

One thing that is starting to get on my nerves is when one on my parents will say that I'm acting like Dylan my oldest brother. We have very similar types of mannerisms and quirks. So if I'm doing something that reminds them of Dylan they will say "Your doing a Dylan". Did they ever think that maybe he is doing a Garrett. True, he is my oldest brother and I may have picked up a few things from him but he probably picked up a few things from me. They also seem to say it more when I have my hair cut similar to him. I don't remember them saying it a lot when I have my hair grown out. I keep telling them that if they keep saying I'm doing a Dylan that I will grow my hair long and keep it that way. Which I consider a threat b/c my Mom doesn't like it all that much when I have long hair.

Dylan, Branden, Ryan, Me

Next time I post pics of myself I'm going to have to make sure it is not one where I wear my Dawn shirt. I think in every pic of me I've posted I have the same shirt on.

Beluga Bubble Rings

I first saw this on the news like a week ago of a Beluga Whale blowing bubble rings and I thought that it was really cool. I remember when I was in grade 7 and my class took a trip to Vancouver and we got to spend the night at the aquarium. The guys got to sleep next to the the Beluga Whales and it was awesome watching them swim around as we went to sleep. I think the Beluga whales are just so darn cute. Hehe.

What would you do if...

I really love to complete surveys about myself. I can discover so much. When I look back on them I can see how I once was. I think it would be a great idea to actually give a survey with like a few hundred questions to any women I plan to date. See if I like their answers. It would sure probably save a lot of hassle in the end.

you found out the person you love cheated on you?:I would hear them out as to why they did it. I may even stay with them. Ultimately it would probably eat away at me and I wouldn't be able to stay with them.
your pet died?:Bury it. Maybe even shed a tear, but death is a part of life. I've become really cool in the last few years huh. Somewhere underneath I have life.
you saw someone drop a hundred dollar bill?:I would actually give it back to the person. I consider myself to be a moral and honest person.
your personal sex tape was released?:Well if I ever did make one I would let my g/f be incontrol of it. If she let it out then I would be pissed but I think I would have nothing to be ashamed about.
you were offered your dream job, but located arcoss the world?:I would definately go, but if I was with the girl of my dreams and she couldn't go I would say screw it.
you found out one of your parents were gay?:I wouldn't really care, but I would feel really bad for the parent who was not gay unless they didn't care themselves.
you could erase one thing in your past?:I'm not sure I would. I guess each thing is a learning experience and can make you can become a better person after it, no matter how much something can really suck.
you knew you were going to die in one week?:Wrap up my personal affairs. Spend as much time with my family and friends, tell the people I really care for how much I love them, let my crush know how much I love her.
you became paralyzed?:Adapt.
you could change something about your physical self for free?:This is what I'm givin if I don't like it tuff shit. If you don't like the way I am them fuck you.
your best friend commited a murder?:Convince the person to turn himself in. If he didn't then I would, but I would always sick by there side.
you found out a sibling was raped?:If I had a sister and I found out she was raped I would find the person, torture them and most likely kill them. I don't care if it meant going to prison for life. Rape is one thing I can't stand for.
you could see into your future (for REAL):I would try to pervent anything bad that would happen.
you won 1 million dollars?:I would share the wealth with friends and family. I would also have to build the house of my dreams.
you could save 10 lives by giving up your own?:If one of the lives was for someone that I loved them absolutely. I think it would have to be more people if I didn't know any of them.

Gone Shooting

The one thing that I've always wanted to do is shoot a gun. One of my best friends is a hunter so I got to experience shooting some rifles with him and his Dad at the local shooting range a couple of years ago. I actually turned out to be a very good shot. Everything that I aimed for I hit. It was really cool aiming with the scope. The picture to the left was one of the targets I was aiming at. One thing that totally kicked ass was how close my grouping of bullets were. I did even better than my friend and his Dad and they are hunters. It is one thing I never let them forget. Taking a guess, I think the target was 50 yards away but I can't be certain. I also got to take aim at some clay pigeons and metal in the shape of animals. On my first try I even hit a metal pig that was really far away and is a very difficult shot.

After enjoying myself so much shooting some rifles, I really wanted to try hand guns. When I was in Edmonton last fall I found the Wild Wild West Shooting Centre in West Edmonton Mall where you could try shooting a variety of weapons. Here you choose the type of round you want to shoot and try a few different guns that are compatible. I of course really wanted to shoot some 9mm rounds, just so I could shoot a beretta. I also tried my hand at a glock and some other type that I can't remember. It kicked ass just putting bullets in the clip then putting the clip in the gun. In the picture to the right you can see that I was all over the place. Since I've such a huge zombie fan I really wanted to shoot for the head, so I got a few head shots and then tried my hand at the center target. With the beretta I was for some reason forcing the gun down as I shot so that explains the shitty shots to the bottom. I think the glock was the easiest to shoot or it may has been the other type of gun. I was super jealous of my friends target. He had never shot hand guns before and all his grouping were perfectly grouped within the centre. I guess the years of first person shooters have paied off for him. I can't wait till I go down there again. I really want to try a .357 magnum or .44 magnum.

Natalie Portman SNL Rap

I've come across this rap in a lot of my web viewing so I thought I would link it for those who have yet to see it. It is fairly funny but I would have found it a lot more funny if the the swear words were not bleeped.
Language Between Brothers

My three brothers and I have a special way of communicating. Most people become easily lost if they try to follow. My brothers and I all grew on films and we speak a lot of the times using movie quotes or references. Its can almost be like a Family Guy episode when they use film references. Sometimes it may not be the quote itself but the way in which it is said. Don't ask for any examples b/c I can't think of anything and there always spontaneous. Sometimes I forget that I'm talking to one of my brothers and I'll throw in some line from a movie in my speech and I just confuse people and have to it explain its from a movie.
System of a Down

The new video for System's song Lonely Day is now online. Swing by their website to check it out. Personally it is one of my favorite songs off the Hypnotize album.
Novel to Film

One novel that I would love to see on celluloid is Ryne Douglas Pearson's Top Ten. I was first told about the novel by my older brother in the mid 90's when in fact it was scheduled to be filmed. The film unfortunatly never came about. The story of Top Ten I found to be really intriguing. The story in one sentence is about a serial killer whose on the bottom of the FBI's ten most wanted list and he wants to be number one so he starts to hunt down and kill those who are on the list above him. Now if that doesn't hook you I don't know what would. I hadn't been this hooked to want to read a novel since Richard Mathesons's I Am Legend. (This also happens to be another novel to film I'd like to see.) I kept on waiting to see if this movie would ever come about but it never has, so I wanted to at least track down the book to read.

This unfortunately became a bigger challenge than expected. First, all I knew was the book was called Top Ten. I had no idea who wrote the dam thing. It took me awhile just to discover who the author was. Just try typing Top Ten in a book word search I would come up with like 600 matches. Once I found the author I discovered the book was out of print, so the only place I would ever get it would be at a used book store or online. At the time I was never one to buy things online so I had but one option. I searched heavily for 3 years to find the novel but it wasn't until the beginning of last year that I found it. I had almost given up on looking for it but on one of my trips to visit my bro in Edmonton I found it in a book outlet store. I almost didn't even go in the store but I had some time to kill. I was absolutly shocked to find it. Suprisingly after wanting to read it for so long I didn't make a quick read of the thing. I think I read it over a few months. I'm in no way qualified to say what is a great novel but I know what I like and I would say I did enjoy Top Ten. Hopefully they will eventually get to putting this on film.

Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers

This year in music is going to rock. At least I hope it will. I just found out today that Pearl Jam with be releasing a new album on May 2nd. I got to see them live for the first time in Sept so I hope they play somewhere close so I can see them live again. I also found out a few days ago that The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be releasing a new album on May 9th. They start there concert tour in Europe around the same time I will be over there so I can see them in France or England. I've never been able to see them live so it would definitely be awesome if I saw them in Europe.

Other albums that I will be looking forward too this year is the new solo album from Tonic frontman Emerson Hart. Evanescence is currently working on their new album, so hopefully that will be released before the end of the year. Velvet Revolver is also currently writing new material so I hope to hear something new from them by the end of the year. When I saw Audioslave in Sept they said they had written a bunch of new songs while touring and that they would be releasing a new album shortly. They even played a couple of new songs that we could look forward to.

So as Cartman would say this year is going to "kick ass".
Memories

My memory seems to work in a strange way. I tend to have a very good autobiographical memory, but it seems to lack in other areas. I have a great memory when it comes to things I've experienced in my life. I can remember the most trivial of things. If I'm reminiscing with friends about a certain event I can usually recall the finest of details, which my friends think is crazy. I especially have a good memory for what I call my autobiographical movie memory. I can remember most events that happened to me on a day that I saw a certain film. I can remember who I have seen it with, conversations I may have had, and places and things I did that day. I also have a excellent memory for a bunch of movie and music trivia. But when it comes to remembering what happens in a movie I can become very forgetful. I figure this is why I'm able to watch the same movie over and over and over and over again. I figure that if I only had this memory working for me in school I would have actually been a top A student.

Chuck Norris in, "Attack of the Ninjas!"

Ok, so I came across this game you can play as Chuck Norris fighting Ninjas. It seems like over the last few months all I read about online is stuff relating to Chuck Norris. All of a sudden he has regained his popularity. I remember watching him in Delta Force, Missing In Action, and his fight with Bruce Lee and thinking he was a cool bad ass, but what gives with the new found popularity? Not that I'm complaining about it.
The First Night at the New Job.

So after my first night all I can say is "fuck do my feet hurt". First, they wanted me in at 7 and normally I start work at the night club at 10 or 11. I was thinking what the hell an I'm I going to do until the club crowd shows up around 10 or 11. It's a pub with meals and waitresses till 10 so they run the show of clearing the tables until it switched over to a club. Luckily or maybe unluckily they sent me on the task of buying milk. Now, I park my car 3 blocks away at the hotel. After some asshole pulled a hit and run on my car near the end of last summer I tend to be picky where I park. (The fucker caused me $500 in damages but b/c you don't see the damage that much I haven't gotten it fixed yet.) I'm not parking on the street or in the parkaide so some asshole can hit my car again or break into it. At least with the hotel I have video surveillance. I'm a fast walker so it takes me about 5 min to go from car to club. I figure I will take my time on this task just so I don't have to stand around doing nothing or hanging out with people I don't know. When I finally get back they now want me to go and get clamato. So both trips ended up taking me just about over an hour. There was a shit load of walking involved and by the end of the night I could barely stand.

One thing I really hate about starting a new job is meeting new people. I do like meeting new people but not in like a work environment. I get all nervous and stuff. I don't know, I guess I just have a hard time making new friends. Luckily some staff are not new to me. What I find really funny is some times I won't even introduce myself, I'll just start working with then and talk to then as if I'd work with them before.

Once the pub is switched to the club it is smooth sailing and familiar ground. The part I'm going to be dreading every night is the time I'm there just before the switch and I have to be a bus boy helper. The tips were pretty good tonight so it looks like I'll be payed better at this place. All in all it was a good night.

You Are 72% Open Minded

You are a very open minded person, but you're also well grounded.
Tolerant and flexible, you appreciate most lifestyles and viewpoints.
But you also know where you stand firm, and you can draw that line.
You're open to considering every possibility - but in the end, you stand true to yourself.
The Simpsons

Came across this cool real life Simpsons opening.
The End of Rivers and the Beginning of The Thirty Dog

Rivers is no more. It was quite a interesting last night. Two women who were approximately 15 to 20 years older than me were hitting on me and wanted to take me home with them. My question is why is it that it's always the older women who end up hitting on me? It also always seems to happen when I have long hair too or in this case in the process of growing it out again. They also couldn't get enough of feeling up my chest. Supposedly I have a nice chest. Well this is news to me. And if your wondering if I went home with them the answer is hell yeah! Just kidding. Lol. That's not the type of person I am.

It sort of felt weird working in a Nightclub for the last year and a bit. Before I started working there I was nether the type of person to go to a night club nor a big drinker. I sort of felt out of place. I worked with a bunch of so called 'cool' people and I felt as if I was some kind of imposter invading their world and that I would soon be discovered. Once I got to know the people, they all turned out to be really nice and indeed 'cool' people. It was a pleasure working with them all and I will miss it.

I have a really good work ethic, that is to say I have a good work while I'm at work. Before and after work I tend to bitch and complain about having to go to work, but when I'm at work I will work my ass off. My bosses and other employees saw this and did indeed offer me continued employment at the thirty dog (the old Rota building). I was in the place today and they were still doing renovations but I think that it will be a very cool place to work. It will be a pub by day club by night. Unfortunately not everyone who worked with me at Rivers will continue over there and they will be missed. It didn't really matter to me if I did get a job at the new place, but it will be nice having a second income. My Rivers money will basically pay for my Europe trip and I figure this year of working at the nightclub with pay for my continued education if I still wish to pursue it.

So what have I learned by working in a nightclub. I guess the first thing is that drunk people suck. Lol. Next, the women I want to meet do not hang out repeatedly in night clubs. Or maybe they do but just not Rivers. After working there for so long there really wasn't anyone that I would consider asking out and if I did they were already involved. There were more people I was interested in a single year of college semesters than a year in a nightclub. I now have also learned to become a social drinker. Although I still do not do shots or drink beer. My poison is rum and coke, vodka and coke, hypnotic and seven, or a smirnoff ice. I really love my sugar. In the end the one good thing is that it got me out of the house and put me in a place of my peers, but instead of having to pay to be there I was the one being payed. Unfortunately, my peers include those involved in my theory of 85

One last note. I went to see Ultralviolet tonight. This movie sucked so much on so many levels. I thought that it would, but then once I knew Kurt Wimmer directed it I changed my mind. I should have stuck with my original opinion. I felt like walking out of the theater. The last time I hated a film this much was when I saw the remake of The Fog. Skip this film and save your money. I glad I didn't pay to see it, but I should write the studio and ask for my money back anyway.

How Howie Mandel Stole from Me

With the actor/comedian Howie Mandel having his new game show Deal or No Deal I thought it would be the perfect time to let the whole world know HOW HOWIE MANDEL STOLE FROM ME. Well technically I gave it to him, but here goes.

Occasionally in Kamloops we get famous people who stop by to give shows or performances. Working at a hotel sometimes these famous people will stay the night at the hotel I work at. So one summer Howie Mandel came to Kamloops to perform some stand-up comedy and he stayed at the Hotel I work at. At the time I was not employed at the hotel, but my two older brothers were. I was probably between the ages of 13 to 16. I thought it would be really cool to get his autograph since he did the voice for Gizmo in Gremlins and played a lovable monster in the film Little Monsters. I just so happened to have the novelization of the Little Monsters movie that I got through one of those school book orders.

That's one thing I really missed about elementary school, the book orders. I always loved to get movie books, but the funny thing is I never read any of them. I just liked having the books. If you don't know anything about Little Monsters it could sort of be described as a live action Monsters Inc from the 80's with Fred Savage. In the film Howie plays a monster, so he is heavily in make-up through the film. The book I had just so happened to have some pictures from the film and some really good ones of Howies makeup.

So I thought what better thing to get autographed than this book. So my brothers gave the book to the front desk guy so he could get it autographed by Howie when he returned from his nights performance. So I get a call that night from Frank (the front desk guy). Apparently Howie had never seen this item before in his life and thought that it was really cool. Howie wanted to know if he could have it. So I agreed that he could have it. I was told that in return that he might send me something. The worlds were not that he will but he might. And after all this time I still haven't received anything. The only thing I'm left with is this story about how Howie Mandel now has my book that even has my name in it. So if you ever read this post Howie I still want my autograph or swing it so I can be on your show.

My story is not quite done yet. I had a friend who worked at, At Second Glance the used book store and one day she came across a copy of the book Little Monsters. An exact copy of the one I gave Howie and she was nice enough to give me this copy to replace the one that I gave away. What a great little story.

Current Playlist

Currently I'm listening to a bunch of mellow songs. I tend to alternate between listening to heavy music and mellow music regularly. The album Act 1 - Good Bye friends of the Heavenly Bodies by Neverending White lights has completely thrown me into a mellow mental state of mind. All I can say about this album is HOLY SHIT! It is really fucking good. For those who have never heard of Neverending White Lights its this one guy (Daniel Victor) from Ontario who wrote and performs all the instruments on the album while getting other artists from top bands to perform the leads. Some of the artists on the album are the vocalists from The Watchmen, Our Lady Peace, 311, Finger Eleven, Age of Electric and Alexisonfire. The great thing about having all these vocalists is that when your listening to it, it sounds like this really great mix tape of mellow songs. Some of these songs just tug on your soul. It is highly recommended.

The whole album is great but these are the songs in particular that I love:
From What I Once Was.
I Hope Your Heart Runs Empty
A Little Piece
This Longing
The Grace
Life Is A Dead Scene
Angels & Saints
Liar
Ending Of A Story

I know that I will love this album and not get sick of it after a while. My friend once told me this theory that songs you love right away you will tend to get sick of after a while, but if it takes a couple of listens to start liking a song then you'll love it forever. I would totally agree with her on this. The first time I listened to the album I only thought it was ok and now I can't get enough of it. Other soft albums I'm currently listening too include the new Train album For Me it's You, Our Lady Peace- Healthy in Paranoid Times, and the second disc on Foo Fighters-In Your Honor.

Euro Trip

So I'm planning to go to Europe at the very end of April. Out of all the places that I want to go in the world this is it. Luckily one of my best friends from high school is joining me on my little adventure, so it will be nice going with someone. But it would also be cool going myself. I thought about going on this trip over a year ago and have been working my ass off doing two jobs just so I could afford it. I had originally wanted to go for like 6months to a year. My dad was born in England so I could get a British passport and work over there with no problem. As it has gotten closer to the day of going I have realized that it wasn't really realistic to go for that long. If I did go for that long then I would miss working at the hotel over the summer which is the time that I make the most money. Also I'd had planned to continue my schooling in Sept and if I went all summer I would have no money left for school since I would have to move out of kamloops to continue with school. I now plan to go for just over a month. If I really do like it over there, then I may just move there in the next few years. With my new idea for a career I would be making lots of money and would be able to do it anywhere in the world, but more on this in a later blog. I figure I have lots of money for my trip so I could pretty much do anything over there. It all really depends now on how much money I want left when I return.

So I have pretty much a list of all the things that I want to do in London and Paris organized. I hope to have a list of all the other palaces and things I want to do by Sunday so I can start booking tickets and Hotels and Hostels.

I also ordered a book that lists the movie locations for films shot in London. I just have to track down place where films like A Fish called Wanda, An American Werewolf in London, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days later, Monty Python Stuff and lots of other films were filmed.

In Paris I need to see:

Cimetiere du Pere-Lochoise - Famous Cemetry, Jim Morrison's Grave.

One thing I really want to do is get grave rubbing of famous people such as Shakespeare and Morrison and have them framed in my house.

Things outside of Paris that I need to check out include Normandy and Cannes. The Cannes Film festival takes place in the middle of May so I hope to be there and see some famous people. I also have to ride the metro while listening to System of a Down's Metro.
