Movie Reviews

The Last Kiss
Dude, WTF? Don't go into this film thinking it's some sweet little romantic dramedy. (You may not have really thought but anyways). But this was quite the serious drama. Zach's character did some really assholish things. At least he realizes that he was an asshole or I would have really hated his character. And what's with all the nudity in the first half of the film? So the question is was it a good film? I thought that it was okay. I certainly didn't come out of the film hating it. I had a different expectation so I will most definitely have to watch this one a second time around. They lift the plot from Eight Days a Week for one point in the story, which I thought was well done. If you've never seen 'Eight Days' I recommend it. The soundtrack kicks ass, if you liked the Garden State soundtrack you'll love this one.

Hollywoodland
I really didn't care for this film much. It's not that it was bad though. I wish there was just more to it. And that's all I have to say about that.

The Illusionist
Very good film. I saw it Tuesday and don't really have much to add to it. If you want to see it then you'll enjoy it.

Wow that's kinda cool. I didn't realise it was serious like that. I think I'd really like to see it. But then, I kinda like Zach Braff... and I want to check out the soundtrack.

The Illusionist looks super cool, but I'm still gonna have to wait to see it in video.

Funny how a movie person did not know the plot line of that movie... I knew it wasnt like that just by all the ads and the interviews I saw on it....

I really just didn't expect it to be as serious as it was. Or more I just didn't want it to be. But I guess I should have thought that considering the film that it was based on. They even lighten it up a bit from that one. The seriousness is probably what I'll love about it when I see it again. Shows more of the reailty of a relationship than the traditional happy love story.
