Playing Catch Up
For the last couple days I've been trying to get myself caught up on films I didn't have a chance to see in the theatres. 'Evil Grin' Thus I've been downloading them to watch. Here are the ones I've seen so far.
An American Haunting
This is the film that is inspired by the Bell Witch. I was hoping that this was going to be really good, but alas it wasn't. It wasn't terrible but it was far from anything great. I just wish they went in another direction. In the trailer you can see that there are scenes that take place in the past and present. Thus the haunting continue. But the scenes in the now only take place for the first and last 5 minutes of the film. It should have been more of the film. Also instead of just using the Bell Witch as an inspiration for some made up story they should have followed more to the legend of the haunting.
See No Evil
This is the WWE horror film staring Kane. I thought this was going to suck but it actually turned out pretty good. If your interested in watching slasher films then you'll have fun watching this one. I will be picking this one up when it comes out on DVD.
She's the Man
Originally I had no interest in seeing this one. I thought it would end up being some lame teen film. Then I found out it was based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. I'll admit the most I actually know about Twelfth night is that my brother had to read it in an English class. It turns out the film was really good. There was plenty of laughs throughout. I'm one who likes seeing Shakespeares plays being interpreted in modern ways. It's also cool when the modern take also uses the old English. If you liked 'Ten Things I Hate About You' then you'll also really like this one. The film does have some funny embarrassing scenes. I've noticed that if I have control of pausing a film and I'm watching it alone I tend to pause just before or in the middle of an embarrassing scene and give it a few seconds before I start it up again. I guess when a character is going through some embarrassing moments I feel like I'm right there going through it too.

Cool - I might have to try 'She's the Man' just b/c I loved 10 Things.
Thinking of good movies, I would recommend Primer if you haven't seen it. I thought it was fantastic, although some of it was a little complex. Mind you, I was drunk. LOL. So that makes it harder to follow the sci-fi stuff. But still very good, especially if you watch it with someone you can discuss it with after.

Gotta warn you though - the trailer kinda sucks... but it really is a good movie!

Well thanks for the recommendation, but yes I have actual seen it. I agree, it was pretty cool. Also a little complex even if your not drunk. I remember talking about it with my younger brother after seeing it. Now I feel like seeing it again. Hehe.
