Miami Vice

I'm not sure if my review is going to be helpful to anybody b/c I'm not sure whether I liked it or not. I'm sorta on the fence as to whether it was extremely good or horrible. I'm going to have to let it sit for a bit. It's one of those films I need to give a second look. So for now I'll go with saying that it is about average. If you plan on seeing it make sure to pay close attention to whats going on b/c it can be hard to follow. I was expecting a lot more from the film. I was hoping for something fun to watch along the lines of SWAT but it was lacking in that department. It did have some great scenes and some of the things you would expect to see from Mann. It was a fairly stylish and felt close to his other films Collateral and Heat. I'm not sure whether I liked Heat the first time I saw it but now I just adore that film.

Michael Mann must really love Audioslave. He used one of their songs in Collateral and this time around his used 3 of their songs. All the songs I've never heard before so they are likely new stuff that will be released on their next album coming out in September. It would have been nice to include one on the soundtrack, then maybe I would have bought it.

One of the trailers was for The Departed which stars an all star cast with such names as Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Jack Nicholson. Looks pretty freaking awesome. You can see the trailer here.
