I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. Here I am looking for episodes of Spaced on YouTube, when all I have to download the complete series off torrentspy and then burn them directly to DVD. So if things go as planned I'll have the first season downloaded in the next couple hours and have then burnt to DVD by the time I have to go to work. Good thing I thought of this b/c I hate sitting at my computer for an extended period of time watching videos. I prefer to watch them on a TV in my room.

I saw this last night and thought that it sucked. The story was weak and was lacking any real good laughs. The only people in the audience who seemed to like it were kids younger than 12. It's too bad really. With the teaming of Jared Hess, Mike White and Jack Black I was hoping they would make a really funny movie. I think I have gone long past the age of when a PG comedy could make me laugh. There's not too many PG comedies that can make me laugh these days. It's a shame really. My biggest laughs came from Jack Black singing two songs. At least I have the Tenacious D movie to look forward to this year. Maybe next time they'll do better. I give it a 1 out 5.

Hopefully coming out this fall is the new film written and directed by Richard Kelly the man who brought us the bitchin film Donnie Darko. "Southland Tales is an ensemble piece set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros is an action star who's stricken with amnesia. His life intertwines with Krysta Now, an adult film star developing her own reality television project, and David Clark, a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy." The three hour cut of the film was shown at Cannes this past May. Unfortunately the critics hated it, but as I have learned critic don't know shit. Sony has bought the rights to the film and hopefully will be releasing it before the end of the year. However they are likely to edit the running time. If it wasn't for Kelly I not to sure I'd be interested in the film.
Now I just came across the news that Kelly has wrote 3 prequel graphic novels. The first two have already been released and the third is set for a July 25th release. Now I'm really intrigue to enter the world of Southland. If I come across the first one in town I plan to pick it up.
Mugger: Give me all your money and your wallets.
Larry Wilson: Aw, get your ass outta here, it's too hot!
From Weekend at Bernie's. Oh how I love this movie. Every hot day I think of this quote.

Nick Frost (the other guy from Shaun of the Dead) had a TV series back in 02 called "Danger! 50000 Volts!". It's a mock survival guide with Frost giving advice on volcanoes, getting beaten by thugs with bats and surviving a hippo attack. In my search for 'Spaced' on YouTube I came across a special one he made for surving a zombie attack that he made with Simon Pegg. Really funny shit. I was drinking at the time and almost spit out a mouth load of alcohol from laughing. I wish they put this on the Shaun DVD.
Yes, you read right Sexual Origami. While in Europe I found a book that taugh you how to make sexual origami. I'm not quite sure where I saw it but the fact that a book like that exists is hilarious. I was tempted to actually buy it but didn't. I now wish I had, but thanks to the internet I don't need a book. This one site I found lists 33 that you can make.

When I was in elementary school I was quite skilled in the art of origami. I'm not sure how my interest started but after reading some books I found out that I was very good at it. I even taught my class how to make some and even ran a small business selling them. I knew a lot off by heart. By the end of high school I knew only how to make two: a 3D Frog and a Lilly. Now I only remember how to make a Lilly off by heart. I think doing the flower was my fav which is probably why it's the only one I remember how to do. When I was younger I thought knowing how to make an origami flower would impress the ladies. It did I guess, but it's not like it ever got me anywhere :( LOL. It's definitely a cool trick to have, I know I've made a few in the last few years to cheer some people up.
(This is not one of mine)
When one of my teachers went to Japan she brought me back some authentic Japanese origami paper. Which I of course I used to make the origami lily with. Now that I know there is such a thing as pornogami I might have to try my hand at making a few.
Thanks to Jen I've become once again addicted to NES. I can't believe I only just found out you can play old NES games online. Where the hell have I've been? Jen found this one site and then I found this other one called Every Video Game. It brings back so many memories. I remember how much me and my brothers were addicted to playing. The best part of having brothers was there was always someone to play with. But then again the tensions of playing usually lead to physical fights between us. Then you have the fact that one system between 4 sons wasn't enough and so we needed two systems to prevent us from killing each other. Then again sometimes 2 systems weren't enough either. My favorite part about the old system were all the movie inspired games. Those were my favorite types of games. I think my favorite game was A Nightmare on Elm Street. As I'm going through the list of games I'm finding a lot of film games I never knew even existed such as Lethal Weapon, Bram Stokers Dracula, and Temple of Doom. Then I'm finding the games I use to rent over and over such as Captain America and The Avengers, Double Dare, and The Adams Family. Then there are the games I've always wanted to play such as The Goonies 2, Ghostbusters 2, Back to the Future, and Platoon.
We were quite heavy into the games and equipment. We had the systems, the guns, the power glove, the running mat, and my personal fav the Robot. Which still works today. Long after I stopped playing I used to have the robot on display in my room. Then there was the Game Genie, the coolest invention ever. Being able to play the games with a bunch of cool cheats were awesome and some ways were the only way to beat the games. We were even members of Nintendo Power. Looks like I'll be playing games on my computer for a while. I just wish I could hook up my nes paddle to the computer.
I have wonderful news to report. My friends Jen and Trevor are the new proud parents of a healthy baby girl. Congratulations to you both for bringing a beautiful baby girl into the world. Your going to make fantastic parents. Best of luck to you both!
I just 'returned' (hehe) from seeing the new Superman. They had a 10pm screening but I was invited to the 1am staff showing. Yeah, I didn't have to put up with seeing it in a sold out crowd. It pays knowing people. I could've even seen it last Friday and been one of the very few people to see it in advance. That was my second cool reason for wanting to leave town, but working took president. So did I like it? Yes, but I didn't love it. The casting was terrific and everyone did a fantastic job. Brandon Routh as the new Clark Kent/Superman was killer. He took over were Reeve left off and made it his own. The effects were very well done. I wasn't left thinking how fake things looked. Just as the tagline says "You'll Believe a Man Can Fly, Again".
The film is over 2 1/2 hours long but it didn't even feel like it. I think maybe the storyline was a little bit lacking in some parts. It did sort of feeling like another rehashing of the plot from the first film in a way that Lex is up to his usual shit. My friend didn't think it was all that good, but then again he has never seen in full any of the original films. He has only seen bits and pieces. Thus it was interesting to hear someone's unbiased opinion. I do like the references to the first 2 films but I guess they just ignored the last two. I give it a 3 out 5. But you can judge for yourself if you like it or not. Remember this comes from someone who thought 2 and 3 were the best ones and actually really liked part 4. But then again I was a kid and what the hell do they know about good films. I look forward to the DVD with some deleted scenes. It would be cool to have more flash back scenes when he first is discovering his powers. I know they should have at least one b/c in a TV spot they have a scene with I assume is Jonathan Kent saying "So you flew in last week". I also can't wait for the new Ultimate DVD box set of the entire series which I heard at one point was going to be 14 discs. It will be awesome to see the Donner cut of Superman 2. Well the sun is rising over the hills again so I think I'm going to sit back and watch it again.I took this picture when I was in Paris. I thought it was a really cool ad for the film.

| You Are Beer! |
![]() You don't need to get totally wasted when you hit the bars. More of a social drinker, you just like to have fun with your friends. And as long as the beer keeps flowing, you're a happy camper. But don't mix things up: "Beer Before Liquor, Never Been Sicker!" |
After a long wait I finally obtained a copy of this film to watch. It started out really creepy and when Hayley's true self comes out is really cool. After that it sort of felt like it dropped off for me. I guess I was just expecting something else. It's just when your expecting one thing and you get something else your left a little disappointed. It was still pretty decent though, I give it a 2.5 out of 5. Maybe it's b/c of the shitty copy that I saw that I didn't like it as much as I would have. When a film is not watched the way it should be you can miss the subtle nuances that make the film just that much better. Page does a brilliant job pulling off a sweet exterior before exposed the nut within. Like that Hard "CANDY" reference. Sweet on the outside, nuts in the middle...LOL. Yeah I know I'm lame. I do wish they had a little bit more of a back story for Ellen Page's character. It definitely deserves a second viewing. Sometimes it takes a second time seeing a film before I truly love it. I could possibly see this happening with this film. Maybe I'll be giving it a higher rating in the future. A couple years back I had an idea for a movie similar to this but instead of a pedophile it was a serial rapist and it was very gory revenge flick.
Before Shaun of the Dead there was Spaced. A British TV series that lasted two seasons. Here is the first clip I've seen of the show. Now I really want to find them all to watch. I can't wait to see Simon Pegg in something new. I love that they have the British quad posters for Evil Dead 2 and Dawn of the Dead in the background. I guess it obvious that Shaun of the Dead would be something they'd do.
I just read in Simon's bio that he was offered the lead role of Rorschach in The Watchmen at one point, but turned it down. I guess with Zach officially signed on now to direct I wonder if he will try to cast him again.
Here's another Spaced clip I found.

Once again what the FUCK do critics know? The answer is absolutely nothing. They only know what they like and not what regular people like. So what if its not going to win any awards. So to all the critics in the world go kill yourselves before I get my hands on you and beat you with your own arms. Hehe. I went to see the new Sandler film and thought that it was freakin awesome. Every critic has been bashing this film but I thought that it was really good. If your a fan of his work this is a must see.
After The Wedding Singer his films have been either hit or miss. Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Mr Deeds misses. Punch-Drunk-Love, Anger Management, 50 First Dates hits. Don't get me wrong his misses are somewhat amusing and I do on some level like them but I don't think they are really great films. Unlike some of his films, the best and funny parts of this film are not given away in the trailer. I was laughing hard throughout the film. When your watching it, it's almost like you watching all his films at once. It's got the down right hilarity of Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, the serious moments of Punch Drunk, and Spanglish mixed with the lovingness (is that even a word? Fuck it that's what I'm using) of Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates.
Oh yeah the film does have it's sad moments, so if your a crier bring your tissue. But not to fret the film doesn't leave you sobbing for long. Also Kate as a house wife is a supper hotty...Drool. If all us guys could land a women out of our league like that. Simple, just think every women is out of you league then when you land one you'll be smiling. It's definantly the best comedy so far of the summer and I guess this year. But that's only b/c I can't think of all the comedies I've seen this year. If my rating means anything to people I'll go with 4 out of 5.
Also if you pay attention to it there is a really great soundtrack to the film, but you can hardly notice it.

Mouth off. Today we had a scorcher of a day and it's only going to get hotter. I hate when I have to work outside in the heat so I not looking forward to this Tuesday. It also sucks my car has to sit in the heat and it has no A/C. Being out in the heat with a hose and just a pair of board shorts is a different story. So once I got off work, I washed my car and waxed it. I love the way my car feels just after it had been waxed. It feels brand new. I spent about 3 hours in the sun and I thought I'd get a burn (b/c I went without sunscreen) but nope. I really don't burn when I'm outside, but I've had some fairly bad burns when I younger.
As I was waxing my car I realized that this past winter was brutal on my front bumper. Their was a shit load chips from all the tiny rocks from the sanding. This really pisses me off. It's the most expensive thing I own so when even the tiniest thing happens to it I get pissed off. I need to get a new bumper sometime (b/c of the asshole who backed into it last year) so this will take car of all the chips. I have the money to replace the bumper, but I really don't feel like spending the money. It only really noticeable when I get close to it anyway. Maybe when I finish paying off the car this August I'll fix it.

"Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life." I should really try to do that.
A classic fight scene from one of my favorite films. I love watching gang vs. gang fights on film. Another good film with a gang brawl is The Wanderers.
It's been a while but this morning I'll be watching the sunrise. I got home from the club at around 3:30am and have to be back at the hotel to work at 6:30am so I figure why bother sleeping. I get to hear the birds chirping (which piss me off when I'm trying to sleep) and see the sun rise-up over the mountains, all while eating my McD's bacon chesseburgers and drinking my Superman Slurpee. And pass the time surfing the web. Maybe I should go out for an early morning jog. Yeah right! This boring moment from my life has been brought to you by G. You may now click on something interesting.

Walmart is having it's DVD blow out sale again. Bad news for someone with an addiction like me Hehe :) It's like selling crack at half price. It's the fourth time they have had this sale. I remember the first one. I ended up walking out with 15 DVD's (or maybe it was more?). My collection is now over 900 I think. I should probably count it again but I'm too lazy. Once I saw the add in this morning paper I immediately drove out their just to get first dibs. I'm such a loser Lol. Although this time I did only walk out with 2. I pretty much already owned all the other good stuff.
Walmart Slashing more than just prices.

Watch the new trailer for the Zach Braff film here. Thanks Dylan for giving me the link.
Night WatchReleased this Tuesday on DVD was the Russian film Night Watch. It is the first film of a trilogy. I believed that it is based on a graphic novel.
"It is a fantasy-thriller set in present-day Moscow where the respective forces that control daytime and nighttime do battle. Among normal humans live the "Others" possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires, witches, and shape-shifters while a "Night Watch" of light forces, among them Anton, the movie's protagonist, try to control them and limit their outrage."
I saw this film back in February when I saw a burnt copy with English subtitles. Having to read this film took away from the movie experience b/c not only did it take away for seeing a lot of the cool visuals it also made the story a little bit hard to follow. Even with these little nuisances I could tell I had watched something very cool. So I couldn't wait until it came out on DVD so I could see a dubbed version. So I've seen the this film without distractions and it did improve upon watching it a second time. It was definantly easier to follow and you can watch all the cool effects. It may have been easier to follow but some parts as your watching them still were confusing but they do clear themselves up by the end. I can't wait to see the next two installments but I'll be stuck waiting. The second one was just finally released in Russia and this first one was released back in 04. The third one is set for 07. If your completely oblivious to the film like I once was then watch the trailer here. If you watch the trailer and it makes you want to see it like I did it's a must watch. If after seeing it you have no interest then skip it. I give it a 4 out of 5. The end credits of the film also feature a really cool song by The Bravery called Fearless.
Every where I go there is construction. It is really starting to get on my nerves. Every road I take to go places( expect the highway at least for now) has either road construction or building construction spilling out into the streets. As a result there are detours and delays. So what if it's good for the city. With the new shopping centre there going to end up turning Columbia street in a huge traffic jam. I can see it now, roads back up just like Kelowna. Coming off the highway onto Columbia is already a high traffic accident zone and now its only going to get worse. I wished they'd hurry up with everything. Also why do they always manage to be doing road work in the middle of summer its seems pretty stupid, why don't they aim for spring or fall.
What I'm referring to is my black and white checkered Vans. Surprise, surprise yes I have a story to tell, and once again it's probably only interesting to one person, myself. But hey it may entertain someone else, so why not. A few years ago I found out that Van's had once again released the classic checkered Vans. Which I associate with Sean Pean's character Jeff Spicoloi from the awesome movie 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High'. One day I saw one of my brothers friends wearing the shoes and was curious as to where he bought them. I was told it was at the local skate and board shop 'Orange'. The next day I head to the store to pick up a pair which was the start of my long journey to get a them. They had them, but only in size 10, 11 and 12. I'm a size 9 so I just missed out. Then it dawns on me they have 2 locations in town so I eventually found the other place, but they didn't carry the shoe. I thought I'd never get a pair, but my brothers friend said that Orange would order them if I'd ask. So that's what I did. They said they would call if they could get them. Unfortunately they never did and it was the only place in town that carried them. After that point I was on a constant look out in any skate shop for these shoes. I found them at two stores out of town, one in Edmonton and Vancouver, but once again they didn't have my size or anything close.
Now I really, really wanted them. Its funny how you can want something even more especially when you can't have it. At that point I started my internet search. At the time I didn't buy things over the internet but I wanted the shoes so badly that I was willing to do it. What I found out that Vans doesn't ship internationally which is really stupid thinking about it. Why the hell don't they ship to Canada. I did find it on a couple of sites to buy but I would have ended up paying an additional $50 for the shoes which I really didn't want to do. At that point I was starting to give up. Then my youngest brother when to Edmonton one week and I asked him to go to the one store that carried them. They only had a size 8 (I'm size 8 1/2 or 9 depending on the shoe) but I asked him to try them on and I figured that if they fit him okay then they would be fine for me. He said they fit him fine and I was so desperate to have them I told them to buy them and if they didn't fit me he could have them. I figured it was worth the risk. I got them and they were a little snug, but not so bad that I could never wear them. The next year I went back to the same store and they finally had a size 9, so b/c I've gone through such trouble just to get a pair I figured I'd buy another so when I wear out the other pair or if my feet get to big I'd have another pair. Now I found out they are readily available at West 49 and anyone in town can buy them which really suckes considering the trouble I went through. I have seen then a few times in town, but now anyone can buy them. Fuck, that pisses me off. I've also noticed that Kevin Smith wears them all the time so maybe I can call them the Smiths now. On a side note the same store in Edmonton that carried the store also has 'Fast Times' shirts so I got my oldest bro to pick up two for me.
I went to see The Lake House tonight. All I can saw is that it is really good. I give it a 4 out of 5. Hell, I'll give it a 4.5 out of 5. It's like a romantic version of Frequency, which just so happens to be one of my favorite movies. Funny how I don't have that film listed in my fav films section on my profile. Lake House is sort of predictable but who cares. I assume it's a tear jerker b/c of all the sniffles I heard in the theatre, that or a lot of coke heads went to see the film. Whenever I see a film that would make someone cry I fell like I should be feeling something but I usually never do. Unless I completely open myself to feeling that way. I think I've learned to just shut those feelings out, which is a little sad when you think about it.
A funny thing is that I went to see this Monday but they were unable to get the film started (due to some new person), so I got a free pass. That night I ran into some women I knew from the night club that just so happen to be going to the film as well. When they found out I was going to The Lake House, I got this shocked looked, like really your going to see a chick flick and your not being dragged by some women. I said that I watch all types of films. I enjoy a good chick flick as much as a gory horror film. Its a shame that most men don't go to films such as this one without being dragged. Hell, maybe they will pick up a few pointers on becoming a better man and that way I could stop being clumped into a group of a bunch of assholes. I hear it almost every night at the club 'Men are a bunch of assholes". I agree but there are still a few good ones. Then when I saw it tonight I ran into the same group tying to see it again, which I thought was pretty funny.
Also playing a small role in the film is Jane Austin's novel Persuasion. When I was at the British Library I just so happen to be able to see the original manuscript for this novel which consisted of two cancelled chapters. I even bought a postcard that featured the autographed manuscript written when Jane was 15. The Library also had her writing desk on which she created many of her most memorable characters, which was believed to have been bought by her father in 1794 as a birthday present. I didn't know what this novel was about until I saw the film, but since I really liked Pride and Prejudice I'm considering reading this novel, or at least watching the BBC film. I should also watch the other Jane Austin film adaptations.

by Ben Harper
This song has such great lyrics, I really connect with them personally. One night in Salzburg some guy was busking and was singing this song so I tipped him. I thought this was quite a rare song, so to hear some person play it in Salzburg no less was really cool.
Oh no, here comes that sun again.
And (that) means another day without you my friend.
And it hurts me to look into the mirror at myself.
And it hurts even more to have to be with somebody else.
And it's so hard to do and so easy to say.
But sometimes - sometimes,
you just have to walk away - walk away.
With so many people to love in my life, why do I worry about one?
But you put the happy in my ness, you put the good times into my fun.
And it's so hard to do and so easy to say.
But sometimes - sometimes,
you just have to walk away - walk away and head for the door.
We've tried the goodbye so many days.
We walk in the same direction so that we could never stray.
They say if you love somebody than you have got to set them free,
but I would rather be locked to you than live in this pain and misery.
They say time will make all this go away,
but it's time that has taken my tomorrows and turned them into yesterdays.
And once again that rising sun is droppin' on down
And once again, you my friend, are nowhere to be found.
And it's so hard to do and so easy to say.
But sometimes, sometimes you just have to walk away, walk away and head for the door.
You just walk away - walk away - walk away.
You just walk away, walk on, turn and head for the door.
There is a few quizzes online where you can find out which film is most like your life. I took it a long time ago and it came up with The Notebook, which I thought was a cruel joke. It's not b/c I didn't like film (Hell, I've even read the book) but that's another story. Well, I was watching Office Space again a few days ago and it dawns on me that right now my life would be mostly like this film. Peter and Lawrence are talking about what they would do if they had a million dollars and it was suppose to indicate what they are meant to do in life. I know what your thinking, I'd do what Lawrence would do, have 2 women at the same time. No, that's not my style, although....hehe. I'd be like Peter, I would do nothing. Peter hates his job and after visiting the hypnotherapist he is left in a state of complete bliss. Its not so much that I hate my jobs I just hate working for businesses. I have a good work ethic but I hate to work, go figure. When I got back from my trip I too have been left in a state of bliss. I just don't care about anything, especially work. Things that would normally get to me have no effect and things I normally wouldn't do I've been doing. These last two things I at least see a good thing, since I'm always trying to better myself and broaden my horizons. There are scenes in the film that mirror exactly what I'm going through. At the club I really don't see the point in busting my ass for them. It's really tempting to see what it would take to get fired from a job. I almost feel like just moving out of town and start fresh.
If Amazon is right then The Walking Dead Volume 5 is only a week away (June 28th). Which means that I only have a week to track down a copy of part 4. I found 3 when I got back into town and finished that in a day but they still don't have 4. I should have bought it when I was only on 2. I found copies of 3 and 4 in a London bookstore and was really tempted to get them but I also didn't want the book to wrecked on my voyage home.

I love watching films that have my name in them. Its not a common name so there isn't to many movie that feature it. Ones that I can think of are 'Message in a Bottle', 'Terms of Endearment', and 'Quest for Camelot'. So I've been played by Kevin Costner, Jack Nicholson, and voiced by Cary Elwes and have been a widowed shipbuilder, a retired astronaut, and a blind hermit. I also remember back in 97' the show 'Extreme Ghostbuster' has a Garrett character who was in a wheelchair. I was even tempted to buy the figure just to have the name on the box. I remember that I originally watched these films just b/c they had a Garrett character. It's cool hearing my name on screen. Although I think in Terms of Endearment they called Garrett mostly by his last name. It seems that my name is used more as a last name for people on film or TV. I did a IMDB search and it mostly came up as last names. The one famous last name is Pat Garrett the one who shot Billy the Kid.

I just found out that on my pics page I can only post a certain amount of photos a month. Thus a few pics from this set are missing. This also means that it will be a while before all the pics can be posted online. For those who just can't wait send me your email address(g_hodgson17@yahoo.com) and I'll send you a zip file of my photos along with stories. If you can wait or just don't really care I do still plan to post them all online as soon as I'm able to. I also realized as I was going through my pics is I did so many things that I didn't and/or were unable to take photos of. I plan to put a scrap book together of my trip and I plan to write about all the things I did over there. So when I get to that I'll also post these indepth stories on my blog. I'll do my best to make sort of an online scrap book.

One of many hills we hiked up. Up on this hill is a partial reproduction of Athens’s Parthenon. It was left incomplete b/c the money ran out.
6. In the background is Edinburgh Castle
7,9,10 Holyrood Park: Edinburgh’s originally volcanic 800-ft minimountain, with steep slopes and miniature crages. We (at least I did) wanted to go up but didn’t have enough time.
12. Boing
I couldn’t help it.
13. ?
I’m not sure what this is. It’s not a view of the Castle. I think it may be close to Calton Hill.

16. "Were Knights of the Round table..."
I sang this song every time I was in a Castle. It would have been cooler if it was in the real Castle of ‘Holy Grail’ but it was a day trip out of town and we didn’t have time. One of my regrets, but I plan to make a trip back there.

36-38 The Kilt
This was the first kilt I bought. Since there was no mirror around, I had to take a pic of myself so I could see what I looked like. Good thing for the timer on the camera. I said first Kilt b/c I had to exchange this one. I tried it over my cloths in the store, and when I did this I tried it too high up. When I got back to the hostel I tried it on normally and it was really tight around my waist so I went to get a bigger size.

I just saw a TV spot for the new Fast and the Furious and it gave away what may be the coolest part of the film. This being a cameo by a certain actor. I won't wreck it here if you don't want to know but if you don't give a shit I'll put it in the comment section. Hell, you may have seen the TV spot yourself. But putting it in the trailer is it a good idea or a bad idea? It doesn't give anything away with the story, but I thought it kills one of the surpirses. I would have liked to have seen it in the film and be like "fucking awesome". Then again it may be a smart move on Universal's part b/c if people see it they will be more willing to go. I'll admit before I saw it I wasn't as thrilled to go see it (but I still was) but now I really want to see it.

Okay people, if you haven't seen this movie go out and rent it. It just came out (finally!) on DVD this Tuesday. It stars Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer, and was written and directed by Shane Black. If you at all respect my taste in films then you will absolutely love this film. You will especially love this film if you like any of the other films Shane Black has written. He is the one who created Leathal Weapon, and wrote Monster Squad, Last Action Hero, and The Last Boy Scout. You can see the trailer at the official site
Kiss Kiss is "a murder mystery that brings together a private eye, a struggling actress, and a thief masquerading as an actor". It is Val's first comedy in 2 decades and I thought he does such a great job with comedy. Hello, he is the star of one of most favorite comedies of all time: "Real Genius". What I love so much about this film is it's quick wit. I love films that are scripted with such great wit. And if you see this film and love it then see The Last Boy Scout b/c it is another Black scripted film with great wit.

This film came out last October and it has taken this long to come out when ever other movie that came out with it can already be seen on PPV. It was one of my most anticipated films to see last year so I was extremely pissed when Kamloops never got a copy. I had to download a really shitty copy off the internet, which I watched twice and despite the shitty quality I loved it. I even ended up watching it again while I was in Budapest. Ryan also loved it. When a lot of reviewers' where putting together a best of 05 list together this was always in the top ten and in some cases number one. I know I sure would have put it up there. SO GO AND RENT THIS FILM! and is you don't like it then you have terrible taste in films. "And thats all I gotta say about that"
when I wear one of my movie or music shirts out in public and some stranger compliments me on it. Yeah, I know what a loser. For instance, I go to the bar tonight and I wear my Boondock Saints sweatshirt. One of the bouncers who loves the movie, comes up to me with this grin on his face asking where the hell I found a Boondock's hoodie. Then the night before that I wear my Hustler shirt in the style of Mars from Poolhall Junkies and when I go to a 7-11 (to get my Superman cup, Sweet) some cute girl comes up to me and asks if I was a real hustler. Yeah, yeah its not really a compliment on my shirt but I love the story. Its almost like every other week I wear something someone likes. And every time I wear my Chiefs Hockey Jersey (from Slap Shot) someone goes ape shit when they see it. I guess for a $200 dollar hockey jersey someone better love it. It always makes my day when a stranger appreciates my shirts.

Kev on Jay Leno going around to roadside attractions. Really funny stuff. If you own the Jersey Girl Movie you may have seen some of these.
Orlando

Seeing the footage at the end of X-3 made me think of all the other films that have scenes that conclude the film. So here is a list of ones that I know of. If you can think of anymore let me know.
X-3
Jeepers Creepers
Ferris Beuler's Day Off
Masters of the Universe
Street Fighter
Deadman On Campus
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Daredevil (technically it's in the middle of the Credits but can be an easy miss)
Formula 51 (Once again in the middle)
Wrong Turn
South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Once upon a time in Mexico (only a quick flash of Depp)
Young Sherlock Holmes
Wayne's World
Here are some titles I found off a forum somewhere, a lot of them I know were wrong. Here are the ones that I can't vouch for them being accurate or not. But the ones I've listed are real and I've seen them all. If you want to know what is shown instead of seeing them for yourself then just ask. I'm to lazy today to list what is shown.
History of the World Part 1
Aladdin
Power Rangers: The Movie
The Great Muppet Caper
Airplane
Panes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Even with the new Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Tool album to occupy my musical needs for awhile I felt the urge to make another G-Mix. So here is a track list to my new G-Mix compilation. Being without music for my trip made me have to sing songs in my head. A lot of them were really old songs that I hadn't heard since I was a kid. Thus a lot of them I put on this compilation. I really love making compilation CD's, especially for other people. I put a lot of work into them. Everytime I make one I can't help but think of High Fidelity and the rules to making a great mix complilation.
"The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules."
Colin has come to covet my compilations. My formula on my own personal mixs start out with songs I can blast in my car, and then they start to mellow out. Usually one of the first few songs is one that is fairly new. Such as the Tool song. I also have at least one song used from a film. Although most of the time it's more than one. I also try to add some song that is funny or a guilty pleasure, which usually is the last song. On this mix it is The Bee Gee's. It seemed like wherever I went in Europe they were playing songs from Saturday Night Fever. I consider that album to be a guilty pleasure. I remember I made one album for Colin and put Electric Six: Gay Bar as the last song. The funny story is that when he was driving downtown, he heard the start of the song which is really pumping so he cranked the volume. Then the first line is "I wanna take you to a gay bar". So everyone around him heard it as he was driving and started to give him weird looks. He fumbled to turn the damn thing off. He really wanted to kick my ass for this, while I was on the floor laughing at him as he told me the story.

3. The All American Rejects: Move Along
4. Fall Out Boy: Dance, Dance
5. The Digital Underground: The Humpty Hump

7. The Music: Breakin
8. John Parr: Naughty, Naughty (From the film Near Dark)
9 Jem: 24 (From Ultraviolet trailer)
10. Seether: Driven Under
11. Franz Ferdinand: The Fallen
12. Julian Lennon: Vallotte (Yes, the Son of John Lennon)
13. Julian Lennon: Too Late for Goodbyes

17. James Blunt: Tears and Rain
18. The Traveling Wilburys: Well, ItÂs alright
19. The Bee Gees: Night Fever (from Saturday Night Fever)
I went to go see X-3 for a second time tonight. I saw it in Paris, but they had French subtitles that were occasionally distracting. I got in free so why not see it again? I think I liked it better the second time. I feel like it was a good finally with a lot of things summed up while still leaving it open of more sequels. I'm defiantly looking forward to the Wolverine spinoff. When I got back in town my brother informed me that the film continues at the end of the credits, making it even more cool. I love it when films do that, as long as I know about them. So if you still haven't see X-3 remember to stay till the end of the credits.

Just saw the second trailer for Superman Return. You can see it, plus 5 new TV spots on the official Superman Returns website. All show a plethora of new footage. The song in the second TV spot is American Hi Fi-The Resecue. I found out that it isn't avaliable on any of their albums. It was made specifically for a compilation 'Sound of Superman' featuring up-and-coming power pop-rock bands. All songs being based on the man of steel. I'm not a fan of this group but just b/c the song is used in the trailer I love the song and I haven't even heard all of it yet.
The next trailer I watched was 'The Last Kiss' staring Zach Braff. You can view the teaser trailer at Zach's webpage. And once again I'll save you the trouble of finding the song from the trailer. All the work has already been done for you here. The song is Chocolate by Snow Patrol. Zach says that he has compiled the songs on the soundtrack for this film. He also says that it will be kinda like a sequel to the Garden State soundtrack, b/c they have a similar feel. The film is not written by Braff but Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) so it should be good. I also look forward to the soundtrack.

2. Dublinia and The Christ Church Cathedral
Dublinia is the building on the right. Here you can experience what Dublin was like in medieval times. Connected to the left is the Church. Just outside the church we met an old lady who had relatives living in Newfoundland.
3-6 St. Patrick's Cathedral
Yes, that St. Patrick. Jonathon Swift (author of Gulliver’s Travels) was dean here. It is also where his tomb is. Why the hell did I take 4 pics of this place?
7. Our Hostel
This is the only pic of the hostels we stayed in. It doesn’t really do a good job of representing the types of places we stayed in, but all beds we stayed in were bunks. Mine is the one on the bottom left.
8. Face Mask
Me trying on a mask at Dublinia. I also got to try on chain mail, but that was in London.
9. Punishment
Taken at Dublinia. In order to find out why the guy was locked up you had to throw objects at the guy’s head. I recall Ryan being unable to hit the guy’s head. I think I did it on my first try. Don’t ask what he said, it was gibberish.
10. Medieval Dublin
A scene of medieval Dublin at Dublinia.
11. Viking Inspirations
Part of the Dublinia exhibit was on Vikings. The sign tells us how Vikings have been a source of inspiration for literature and cinema. At the beginning of this exhibit I thought I was hearing Sam from Lord of the Rings screaming, and when I got to the end of the exhibit I noticed that they were playing The Return of the King trailer over and over, next to this sign.

We watched an old school video on how these were made. It was really cool.
27. Gravity Bar
A view of Dublin from the Gravity Bar located at the top of the Guinness storehouse. Here you can get a 360 degree view of Dublin. The storehouse was no small building I’ll tell you that. It was 8 stories high. The gravity bar at the top is where you could drink a free pint of the dark stuff. I skipped out on the pint, but I did try the free samples. Didn’t like it, but then again I’m not a beer drinker.
28. The Brewery
This is the actually brewery, but it is closed to the public. The pic is taken from the gravity bar.

I guess they have been avaliable for a over a week but I only found out today. Thanks Dylan for not telling me. Get your own Superman Slurpee 3d cups today at 7-11. Which brings to mind that I found a chain of 7-11 stores in Coppenhagen (the only place in Europe that had them).

| You Are The Hanging Man |
![]() You represent the seeking of enlightenment and spiritual clarity. You tend to confuse others, but your oddities seem deeply satisfying. Self sacrifice is easy for you, especially if it makes you a better person in the end. You are the type of person who is very in touch with your soul and inner spirit. Your fortune: Right now is a good time for reflection and meditation. You should stop resisting the problems in your life, and let yourself be vulnerable to them. You may need to sacrifice something important to you to move ahead in your life. Accept your destiny with courage, and learn to let go of what you think you need. |
I thought I was going to have to wait longer to get my next Dawn of the Dead action figure. Also the Shaun of the Dead figure is being release in series 4, so I'm considering getting that one too. They come out next month and stores that carry them in Canada are Spencer's Gifts as well as most good comic book stores.

An ancient fortress that served the monarchs as both fortress and palace. A lot of legendary figures were imprisoned and/or executed here. It is also where the Crown Jewels are kept.

A couple of days ago I got a postcard in the mail letting me know that System of A Down will be playing in Edmonton on June 25th. My first thought was when the hell did I sign up for something that would send me a postcard to let me know when they are playing. It hasn't even been a year since the last time I saw them and in Edmonton none the least. Of course that doesn't really matter. It's on a Sunday and they still have tickets left, so I'm really considering heading out that way. Maybe some mystical force sent this postcard wanting me to go. Maybe it's from the deer I hit on my way out there last year, wanting to finish me off. "Well I have news for you deer, this time I'm not just going to leave your ass in a ditch". I didn't think my trip to Edmonton would come so soon.
When I went to the Museum of Erotica in Copenhagen I found out that our astrological signs are available in erotic versions. I got a picture of what mind said:

So I wanted to know more about my erotric horoscope so I found this Website that gives more information. In depth my erotic Horoscope says:
The Archer is a Fire sign: 'Nuff said, at least where sex is concerned. The initial Sagittarian response where sex is concerned is through physicality, as opposed to emotion or practicality. The Archer is not shy, and like the half beast/half human that he/she represents, is quite the sexual animal. In other words, these folks are always ready! Sagittarians like to enjoy many an erotic experience, in keeping with their outgoing and sociable nature. Their great libido also lends itself best to an artistic and graceful lover, qualities they very much admire. Trying new things is also often on the Archer's mind, and when their lover says sex on the beach, they had best not be referring to a fruity drink. The Sagittarian's thirst for knowledge is often quenched through straight talk in bed, a way to combine two of their favorite pleasures. Sagittarians can also grow to worship a worthy lover, a fitting response to this holiest of acts.

159. Abbey Road
The street sign for the famous street where Abbey road studies and where the most famous zebra crossing (from The Beatles Abbey Road album) are located. Everyone was wanted to get pics of the zebra crossing or the studio but I saw no one else taking pics of the street sign.
160. Beatles Crossing
When we finally got here we were the second tourists there. The two before us were oriental students with all this really cool camera equipment taking pics of themselves crossing the road. They even mooned walked across the street, which was really funny. I think that is what one of them is doing in this pic.

169. Crossing 3
A closer pic of the crossing. I also took video of me crossing the street. I thought I had a pic of me on the street but I guess it’s just video. By the time we were done a lot more tourists had began to show up. I think two locals were drinking outside their apartment and thinking to themselves “Here comes some more crazed fans.”

I can across another person’s famous house. I’ve never heard of this person, but that fact that my last name is on it was cool.

I think the whole changing of the guard took between 30 and 45 min. Will all the soldiers and hooray its funny that they only leave one or two soldiers behind. I guess that’s why its called the Changing of the Guard not Guards
187. On a Double Decker.
We went on a Double Decker tour bus on our last day in London.
188. ?
This is a statue of some guy. It was high up on a building so I thought being this close to it on the bus was really neat. The guide said who it was but I forgot now.
189. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.
A pub where Voltaire, Dickens frequented.
190. St. Paul's Cathedral
The front to the Cathedral where Diana was married. I’m on a moving Bus hence the not so great pic. We were too lazy to walk to this side when we were on foot the first time we were here.
191. The Great Fire
Monument to the Great Fire of London.
“On Sunday morning, the 2nd September 1666, the destruction of medieval London began. Within 5 days the city which Shakespeare had known was destroyed by fire. An area of one and a half miles by half a mile lay in ashes; 373 acres inside the city walls and 63 acres outside, 87 churches destroyed (including St. Paul's Cathedral) and 13,200 houses. In all this destruction, it is amazing that only 6 people are definitely known to have been killed. However, it seems likely that the actual death toll was much higher. In destroying the close packed houses and other buildings it is also likely that the fire finally put an end to the Great Plague that had devastated the city in the previous year - killing 17,440 out of the population of 93,000.”
192-194. Tower Bridge.
195 &196 The London Dungeon
An interactive tour through the dark history of London with actors. Unfortunately we never had the chance to go, but we did have a chance to go the Edinburgh one. It would have been nice to experience the Jack the Ripper part of the London.
197 –199 Tower Bridge
Going over the Bridge on the Double Decker Bus.
I was just watching my Criterion copy of Dazed and Confused and it made me think of the opening monologue to Richard Linklater's first film Slacker. I didn't really like that movie but the opening monologue just kicks ass. I've tried to find the whole monologue but this is all I can find. I think it is mostly complete though.
Richard Linklater .... Should Have Stayed at the Bus Station
I just had the weirdest dream, back on the bus there... Do you ever have those dreams where they are just completely real? I mean they're so vivid, it's just like, completely real... And there's always something bizarre going on in those... I have one every two years or something.. I always remember 'em really good... Like there's always someone getting run over, or something really weird... One time I had lunch with Tolstoy. Another time I was a roadie for Frank Zappa... Anyway, so this dream I just had it was just like that except instead of anything bizarre going on, there was nothing going on at all... man.. it was like the omega man, there was just nobody around... I was just travelling around, staring out the windows and buses and trains and cars you know... when I was at home i was flipping through the TV stations endlessly... reading. I mean how many dreams do you have where you read in a dream? You know... wait. damn, there was this book i just read on the bus... you know, it was my dream so I guess I wrote it or something... but uh.. anyway it was bizarre... the premise for this whole book was that every thought you have create its own reality. its like every choice and decision you make the thing you choose not to do fractions off and becomes its own reality and it goes on from there...forever. in the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy meets the Scarecrow and they do that little dance at that crossroads and they think about going in all those directions and end up going that one direction? all those other directions just because they thought about it became separate realities.. they just went on from there and lived the rest of their lives, entire different movies but we'll never see it because we're trapped in this one reality restriction type of thing...
I thought the same think back in high school thinking that every choice I didn't make fractions off and becomes its own reality. I went one step further and thought what if these sepearate realities end up meeting up with one another further down the road.
I've been meaning to post a link to one of these for so long. I remember seeing the very first Celebrity Jeopardy when it originally aired. I'm just never around to see it anymore. This one has Bill Cosby, Sharon Osborne and Sean Connery. When Ryan and I were in Amsterdam we had quite the long conversation mostly about this one sketch and other sketch comedies. It was really fun.

So today I will answer the age old question "What exactly does a Scotsman wear under his Kilt?" And with the help of visual aids. Hehe.

They all wear signs that say BOO! As I fall off my chair laughing and with a tear rolling down my cheek.
A new term I just heard of is the acronym SNAG, meaning Sensitive New Age Guy. Supposedly it has been around for a while but it is the first time I heard of it.
Sweet, my blog has had 32 hits (so far) just today. I think that is the most I've ever had in one day.

“Heineken? Why it's the finest beer in the world! President Kennedy used to drink it!”
148. Shakespeare
“Yours shits the Bomb, Yo”
149.Royals
150. Princes
They are so loved over there that you had to pay to get your photo taken with them (That goes for the Queen as well)
151. Diana
Conspiracy Theory: Can anyone get a non-blurry shot of her wax figure
152. Ali.
Sorry… I’m the Greatest. I think I may have him intimidated.
153. The Beatles
154 Great minds think alike.
He had messy hair so I came up with the idea of taking off my hair and messing up my hair too. I made some guy watching me do this laugh.
154 & 155 Vlad
The inspiration for Dracula. I was really looking forward to going to his Country. It pisses me off our plans got screwed up.

2. Mothers' Name? Wendy
3. What is your favourite drink? Cherry Coke. I remember as a kid that it was only available in the states so whenever we made a trip down there I’d always buy a few cases to bring back.
4. Tattoos? Yes, more to come someday
5. Body piercing? No, but I have considered it. Probably never get any.

9. Ever been to Africa? No

11. Ever been on TV? Yes. They were filming at Sahali once, and I made sure I was in the background for every shot.
12. Ever steal any traffic signs? No.
13. Ever been in a car accident? The closest is when a deer hit my car.
15. 2 Door or 4 Door? My car is two door.
16. Salad dressing? My version of a salad is croutons, shredded mozzarella cheese and Golden
Caesar dressing. Weird, I know but really good snack.
17. Favorite pie? I have honestly never tried pie. I’ve been meaning to try it for years but I never get around to it. Sometimes I have to be in a certain mood to try new things.
18. Favorite number? 17

30. How do you see yourself in 10 years? I guess it could go one of two ways. Route one sees me
happily married, with kids. Hopefully my life heads down this path. The other route is all alone, living in the middle of the nowhere bitter at the world, blaming others for where I am, while I’m the only one to blame. Hopefully everyone would just think I’m dead, then I could be left alone. People always think I’m cynical but I don’t know why.

81 & 82. St. Paul’s Cathedral.
This is the where Diana was married. In the first pic you can see there is a tarp with only an image of the building on it. I noticed that a lot of places were having work done on them. The most famous view of the Cathedral can be seen in another pic somewhere in my collection.
83. My Own Street.
What a lucky find. It’s even spelled right. I think I may have to move there.
84-88 A Fish Called Wanda
This is the stairs that Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Klein, and Michael Palin descend after they rob the diamond store in A Fish Called Wanda. Tied for my second favourite movie of all time (tied with Real Genius). These steps were really hard to find. It was starting to get late and we hadn’t eaten plus we were really far from the hostel. I could tell that Ryan really wanted to give up looking for them b/c it had been a really long day. I was just about to give up when I turned the corner and there they were. Once again I plan to post movie comparisons in the future.
89. A Fish Called Wanda?
I think that the gang after stealing the diamonds drove along this street, but I’ll have to check it with the film.
90. Confetti Premiere
We just so happen to wander by as they were having the premiere for the British film Confetti. The only actor I knew in it was Martin Freeman who was in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. If only we came across it sooner I may have caught a glimpse of him. I always wanted to go to a premiere of a big Hollywood movie. I guess this is the closest I’ll get. Instead of a red carpet they had a pink carpet and they had a bunch of Model’s in wedding dresses.
91 & 92 One Flew Billboard
We just happen to be walking through one part of the theatre district on our way to dinner and I see Slater’s face up on this billboard. I was like cool Slater doing a play. When I read it was One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest I think I went ape shit. It would be sweet to see him on stage and especially in this so we went to see it. He did a really good job. He wasn’t trying to do a Jack Nicholson impression and made it his own. I hope his movie career has a turn around b/c he is in a lot of my favorite movies (Pump up the Volume, Kuffs, Heathers etc.)
93 & 94 One Flew
These are scenes from the play that were on display outside the theatre. Other famous actor that were on stage in London were Jeremy Irons, Juliet Lewis, and Dame Judy Dench.
95. T-Rex
This was an animatronic T-rex in the Natural History Museum. It was motion activated. There was a lot at this museum to see. I remember our feet really hurting this day and it was only 1pm when we left. We probably could have been days there if we went into detail with everything they had to show.
96 –98. How Dino's Died.
These were some funny cartoons they had in the Dino exhibit.
99-155 Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
What I really loved about this wax museum is that you could get up close to all the figures and touch them.
99. The Rock
Giving the people’s eyebrow along with The Rock.
100 Kylie Minogue
Nice cleavage. Hehe.
101. Prof X
Patrick Stewart.
102. Madonna
She wants me.
103. Will Smith
104. Colin Farrell.
My cool rubs off on him.
105. Nic Cage.
You need some sun dude!
106. Morgan Freeman and Huge Grant
Why the hell are they beside each other?
107. Susan Surandon
108. Travolta and Jackson
Jules and Vincent take Marvin with them in their car and Vincent's gun goes off and blows Marvin's head off]
Vincent: Whoa!
Jules: What the fuck's happening, man? Ah, shit man!
Vincent: Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face.
Jules: Why the fuck did you do that!
Vincent: Well, I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident!
Jules: Oh man I've seen some crazy ass shit in my time...
Vincent: Chill out, man. I told you it was an accident. You probably went over a bump or something.
Jules: Hey, the car didn't hit no motherfucking bump.
Vincent: Hey, look man, I didn't mean to shoot the son of a bitch. The gun went off. I don't know why.
109. Brad Pitt.
He’s not looking to good here. “Are you going to be sick?”
110. Tom Cruise.
Wipe that face off your head. Dude you really need to shut the fuck up sometimes.
111. Mel Gibson
I think you left some make up on from What Women Want. I guess all the money you made off Christ would give me that stupid smile too.
112. Justin Hawkins from The Darkness
Are you a one album wonder? I’ve had your second album since x-mas and I still only listen to the one song.
113. Sarah Michelle Gellar.
So wrong yet so funny. Did I do something to piss her off?
114. Simpson, Jolie, and Lopez
I don’t think we were allowed to get to close to these ones.
115. Cruz. Simpson, Jolie.
116. Lopez, Aniston, Elle Macpherson
Good thing Jolie and Aniston are kept away from each other.
117. Me and Arnie
118. Hulk
I should have got a pic with me in his hand. This was a huge wax figure.
119. Ford
Couldn’t get to close to Indiana Jones either. Probably b/c they did a shit job on him. I have new for you I could tell even from far away!
120. Michael Caine
121. Steven Spielberg
I stole Steve’s Chair but I don’t think he’ll mind. And if your wondering about the bandana around my calf it b/c they were really sore. I think I pulled them so tieing them off really helped. I guess that will teach me not to stretch before I do all that walking. I think my bandana was the most useful thing I brought. Used it to help my calf, block the sun while I was trying to get some rest, used it to keep the hair out of my face and some other things I don’t really remember.
122. Robin Williams
It was probably a good idea not to have him in short sleeves. It would have been a pain in the ass to put in all the hair over his body.
123. The Electric Jimi Man
The fender stratocaster strung upside down for a left-handed genius Jimi Hendrix
I’ll finish the wax figures in the next instalment.
