Zombies Man!
Was over at Bloody Disgusting and saw a topic titled Top Ten Zombie Movies. It was only a forum where people listed their top ten and all the ones a person would expect were listed but there were a few that I never even heard of. I guess if some people included them in top ten then I must track them down and watch them. The films included that I have never hear of are Plague Of The Zombies ,Night of the Creeps, The Dead Next Door, The Beyond(aka, Zombie 3), and Cemetery Man(aka Dellamorte Dellamore ). The three that sound like I would really enjoy are Nights of the Creeps, Cemetery Man and Dead next Door. All three have something in particular that sound intriguing. NoftheC was written and directed by the same guy who did Monster Squad and involves teens starting to fight against zombies. In Cemetery Man a guy guards a cemetery where the corpses rise and he has to destroy them. Dead Next Door has a zombie squad that comes across a cult of zombie lovers who wants them to survive. A zombie lovers cult sound like a really cool idea. One film I would disagree with that someone listed was City of the Living Dead. I personally thought that this film was a piece of shit. One film was listed as Zombie Flesh Eaters which I only knew it as Zombie (or Zombie 2). Whenever I start a zombie movie marathon this is one that I usually start with. What I find so great about the film is that it explains how a zombie epidemic started on a tropical island and how it then spreads to the entire world. I love the very last shot in the film. I don't wont to wreck it for anyone but I thought it was a cool end to then start watching Romero's dead series. Now that I think about it I haven't watched this film in a while so I think that's what I'll do in the next day or so. I just have to decide if I'll buy the DVD or watch my vhs copy.
On to some other zombie related thoughts. I found a copy of The Walking Dead to buy in town. Damn this really kicked ass, thanks Jen for bringing it to my attention. I think I was hooked just after reading the author's introduction. The absolute sealer for me was when Rick wipes the smell of one of the dead over him in order to blend in with them so not to be noticed. What a great concept. I love it when something new and original can be brought to a zombie story. One part I found hilarious was the character of Glenn. The first time I saw him I was holy shit its Short Round ( the oriental kid from The Temple of Doom), he wears the Yankees cap and looks like he might be Asian. Of course it didn't take me long to get through but now I'm left wanting more and the store I got it from only had 3 and 4. Now I have to wait for them to get number 2 or order it online. Another zombie book I now want to read is The Zombie Survival Guide : Complete Protection from the Living Dead written by Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks). I thought that reading this would fill time while I wait for the second Walking Dead, but when I went to go and buy the book at Chapters they didn't have it even though there computer said it did. Now I'm left really wanting to read this book. When I can't have something I start to want it more. Hehe.
Here's an except

Well I haven't heard of any of those movies. I like zombie flicks, but I really haven't gone out of my way to find any. If it's not at the video store, I'm outta luck.
But glad you liked the Walking Dead. YAY - I converted someone. Hehe. I 've got the fourth one coming in probably today (I love shopping at Amazon/Chapters - would be lost without them) but then the fifth one won't be out for a few months. Dammit! I'm always left wanting more...
And I totally get what you mean about Short Round. Hehe. But that kid is awesome.
The Zombie survival guide sounds pretty kickass though. Hehe. I should buy an axe or something, just in case! Oh, and stockpile tons of food - then I'll be 'safer' in my 3rd floor apartment.

If I hear of any movie that I might enjoy I will do whatever I can to track it down to see it. Even if it means having to buy it without seeing it.
I have a machete so I'm just going to go around as fast as I can lobbing people's head off.

Just finished reading Walking Dead 4. Now I have to wait! ARGH.
But I love how much the characters have grown/chanegd since the beginning, although I'm not gonna say anything and spoil it all. :)

I think I should go ahead and buy parts 3 and 4 right now just so when I do get and finish 2 I'll be able to jump right in.
