Slevin

Saw the film tonight and what a great film. It had a great pay off, it had smart dialogue, good story, acting, everything. There were two small little cool things in the movie that I loved. It introduced me to a disorder called Ataraxia which is calmness untroubled by mental or emotional disquiet. That is how Josh Hartnett's character is able to act so aloof to the situation of mistaken identity. Then when he and Lucy Liu are talking in a scene, she says something along the lines of people shouldn't get together unless they have an interesting story that they could tell people on how they met. I thought that this was quite an interesting theory. I had one of those great stories that I always liked to tell, one of my older brothers have one of those stories and so do my parents.

Did anyone hear about the guy who got escorted off a plane in London for singing to The Clash's 'London Calling'? Some guy on the way to the airport in a taxi was singing to the song and the cab driver got suspicious b/c of the words 'Now war is declared -- and battle come down' and called the authorities. British anti-terrorism detectives then escorted the man from the plane. Come on man it's just a song. I know that when I'm in London I going to end up blurting out this song at some point. I guess I better be careful where I sing it or I may end up like this guy.
